Lina Rosvall is a PhD student at the department NVS, Alzheimer Disease Research Center at Karolinska Institutet. Her primary interest concerns the genetic contributions to the risk of developing dementia. She has both a clinical and an epidemiological approach in her work that includes mutation screenings in familial forms of Alzheimer Disease (AD) and the detection of genetic risk factors for dementia in longitudinal studies. She has investigated the detected mutations causing early onset AD in detail clinically, neuropathologically as well as biochemically. Her epidemiological studies have been focusing on APOE, the only confirmed genetic risk factor of AD, and other genes involved in the cholesterol pathway. |
