Bettina Meinow is a sociologist and received her Ph.D. from the Department of Social Work at Stockholm University in 2008. Currently, she is working at the Stockholm Gerontology Research Center (Äldrecentrum) and at ARC.

Her research concerns health trends among the oldest old, especially trends in the prevalence of multiple health problems and the development of the association between health problems and mortality over time. This has broad ramifications for the allocation of resources and the collaboration between different providers of medical care and social services. Of interest is also how health problems in the elderly population are related to other welfare problems.

Another research area is how different methodological aspects affect results when studying morbidity among elderly people.
